The Do LaB strives to provide an amazing outdoor experience fueled by renewable energy. Last year approximately 142 kWh of power was provided through grid-connected photovoltaics, preventing the release of the 270 pounds of CO2 waste which would have been emitted through more conventional means.

This year we're taking it even further! LIB 2007 will be almost entirely fueled by renewable energy and will be 100% carbon neutral. Our solar panels will provide more power than last years, and all generators will be run on biodiesel. The event will also be fitted with energy-efficient LEDs and compact fluorescent lights where possible.

It is our goal that LIB run entirely on renewable energy in the future. Any remaining energy use this year will be offset with 3 Phases Energy’s 100% Wind Power Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs). These certificates will be used to provide wind power to the electrical grid in locations such as California and Pennsylvania. REC initiatives such as this help renewable energy generators compete with lower-cost “dirty” power providers by making cleaner energy more economically viable.

For LIB07 Energy Efficiency Solar will be providing a large solar installation that will be assembled on the festival grounds. This insallation will remain at the festival site for seven days, collecting enough solar radiation to generate electricity for a large portion of the festival.
